How much rem oil do I use?

After I get done cleaning my gun I just don't know how much rem oil to apply. I have the spray can and don't know if spraying the bolt down would over lube it or if i should just put some on my finger or a cloth and rub it on the bolt. Just to clarify I m talking about how much to oil the bolt not the barrel.
