I want to get a dvd. But it says it is region 1 and only plays on multi-region players?

Im on ebay uk and live in the uk. I want to purchase the dvd Oxygen [1999] [Adrien Brody] but as i said it will only play on multi-region players. I have an normal dvd player attached to my tv which has been able every dvd i have ever bought. But how can i tell if it is multi-region?
