What is the name of the childrens illustrated horror book with the man who wasnt there and the upper berth?

the book was hardback and black, and the illustrations were gruesome and absolutely well drawn. I had the book as a child and want another copy. The man who wasn't there was in the front of the book, with a scratchy drawing of stairs in white on a black background. The upper berth was later in the book, and had insanely good illustrations, almost alice in wonderland like. The book also had a story that to the best of my memory was about a drowned boy in the bathtub, or something to that effect. I really miss this book, it was creepy and will fit perfectly in my personal library with all my other creepy books. Please Help! I know someone else read this book!
